Carbon dioxide for paper production
From the finest luxury paper stock to daily news journals – paper is produced in an extremely wide range of qualities for an extremely wide range of applications. Gases ensure that quality and economy go hand in hand here. And they are also opening up a new chapter in environmental protection as well: carbon dioxide can replace cost-intensive alum, for example, or stabilize the pH of wastewater. In so doing, it acts like a mild acid, thereby saving the cost of aggressive chemicals while protecting the environment at the same time. Carbon dioxide counteracts the unpleasant odors caused by paper wastewater. And because it subsequently completely dissolves in the water, it does not pollute the atmosphere.
