Hydrogen is a key element in climate protection. When burned in a turbine or consumed in an industrial process, it supplies about the same amount of energy as a fossil fuel. The only waste gas produced, however, is harmless water vapor. In a fuel cell, hydrogen is a highly efficient means of generating electricity. Hydrogen is produced from water alone using so-called electrolysis. When the electric power used to drive that electrolysis comes from renewable sources, it is known as “clean” or “green” or “renewable” hydrogen. Messer has extensive experience in the production, storage, supply and use of hydrogen. Specific hydrogen solutions are offered for bus fleets, industrial handling equipment and refueling, as well as for the on-site production and use of hydrogen.
